We are looking for a Trading & Portfolio Management Lead to set up and lead the energy portfolio and risk management of Flo Energy Australia.

Short- and long-term forecasting of energy prices and demand of the retail portfolio;
Optimizing short- and long-term energy demand with our energy trading decisions;
Ensuring Flo thrives under any market circumstances through effective risk management;
Wholesale cost transfer pricing to support sales and renewals across all customer segments;
Setting up (new) price and demand forecasting models for Flo’s regional expansion;
Product development for new tradable flexible assets and customer propositions.
Working closely with the regional Director of TPM to develop and execute portfolio and trading strategies;
Operational excellence: ensuring correct pricing and consumer load forecasting, and providing key performance insights to local and regional management;
Risk Management: assessing and managing various risks associated with the portfolio, such as regulatory changes, market fluctuations, and technology advancements, to maximize returns and minimize potential losses;
Optimal profitability: actively pursuing and sourcing competitive deals and best-in-class energy trading strategies;
Portfolio diversification: assessing business cases for renewable and flexible assets to be deployed locally;
Team performance: a small team of skilled analysts and data engineers responsible for monitoring performance and providing key performance insights.
Have completed relevant education, a relevant (energy) technical/finance education is a strong advantage;
Have at least five years of experience working in a PnL responsible role, strong preference for candidates currently working in a similar role in energy retail or in the past;
Have extensive knowledge of and experience in the Australian energy market. Preferably for gas, electricity and renewables markets, and is fully up to date on current market dynamics;
Are very skillful in SQL and Excel. Affinity with Python is an added quality that is taken into consideration as a strong advantage;
Have excellent communication skills, an eye for detail, and work accurately;
Are self driven and results oriented, and can perform in a lean and fast paced environment;
Have demonstrable affinity with Flo’s sustainable mission.
Have relevant prior work experience in or knowledge of the New Zealand energy market.
