What you will be doing:

You will be responsible for managing key functions related to settlement and metering processes within the Market Operations team. This role requires working collaboratively with various teams to drive common organisational objectives and ensuring compliance with industry regulations.

You also play a critical role in managing relationships with electricity and gas networks, as well as meter providers, and will represent the company in relevant forums.  It requires very solid communication and relationship building and relationship management skills.

You will be a good candidate if you have:

  • Represent Flo in the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) forums concerning settlement and metering processes, advocating for the company’s interests. This includes a strong understanding of the National Electricity Rules (NER), metrology procedures, and their application within Service Level Agreements (SLAs). It requires very solid communication and relationship building skills.

  • Manage the relationships and performance of electricity and gas networks, as well as meter providers on a national scale.

  • Collaborate with the tech team to develop and automate settlements and metering solutions that drive commercial and performance outcomes.

  • Provide guidance and operational support for meter faults and meter deployment, including developing solutions for complex scenarios and coordinating with metering providers.

  • Draft and review procedures, processes, and work instructions to ensure compliance with industry regulations and the effectiveness of operational practices.

  • Analyse and manage settlement and metering processes, adhering to strict internal and external guidelines and maintaining compliance with industry protocols such as the National Electricity Rules (NER) and MSATS Procedures.

  • Analyse potential defects, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with stakeholders to resolve inquiries and ensure smooth operation.

  • Operate within the Metering Operations framework to collect, validate, and store metering-related information, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

  • Analyse and resolve contestable metering exceptions to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of metering services to internal departments and other electricity market participants.

  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a similar and analytical role, with a curious mindset and the ability to develop solutions to complex problems.

  • High attention to detail and the ability to adapt quickly in a fast-moving, highly compliant industry.

  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage conflicting priorities effectively.

  • A proactive, solution-focused approach and growth learning mindset to achieving results and overcoming challenges.
